How it works
Nominate a U.S. parking lot at a business, school, hospital, hotel, dealership or other suitable property through the Project Parking Lot nomination form. We review the lot and, if there is potential, may contact the appropriate property decision-maker and explore a solar-carport project.
Submitting a nomination is free. It does not commit the property owner to a project, guarantee that a project will be developed, or guarantee a referral payment.
What counts as an eligible referral
To be considered for the $5,000 payment, the nomination must meet all of these conditions:
- You are at least 18 years old and legally able to receive referral compensation.
- You submit accurate information that lets us identify the property and contact you about the nomination.
- The property is a new opportunity for us: it has not already been submitted by another eligible referrer or entered our active project pipeline before your submission.
- Your participation does not violate an employer policy, contract, professional obligation, or applicable law.
We may ask for information to verify eligibility. A confirmation that your form was received is not a determination that your nomination qualifies for payment.
If more than one person nominates a property
Only one referral payment is available for a qualifying property. If we receive multiple nominations for the same property, referral credit goes to the first complete, eligible nomination recorded by our submission system. Submitting the same property more than once does not create additional payments.
A property already in our active pipeline before a nomination is submitted is not a new referral under this program.
When the $5,000 is earned
An eligible referrer earns a $5,000 payment only if the nominated property becomes a qualifying Project Parking Lot solar-carport project and installation of that project is completed at the property.
An initial review, property-owner introduction, proposal, signed agreement, funding approval, or start of construction does not by itself earn the payment. If the project does not reach completed installation, no referral payment is due.
Payment and taxes
After completed installation and verification of referral eligibility, we will request the information needed to issue payment. This may include payment details and a completed Form W-9 or other applicable tax documentation. We will provide tax reporting forms when required by law. The recipient is responsible for any taxes owed on the payment.
Share the opportunity responsibly
Only share another person’s private contact information if you have permission to do so. You may introduce the program, but you are not authorized to make pricing or savings promises, negotiate project terms, or represent that you work for Project Parking Lot.
If you publicly recommend Project Parking Lot or share a referral link while you may receive a payment, clearly disclose that potential financial benefit in the same communication.
Changes to these terms
We may update or end this program for future nominations by posting revised terms here. The terms in effect when an eligible nomination was submitted will govern that nomination, except where a change is required by law or agreed to in writing. Where referral payments are prohibited or restricted by applicable law, participation and payment are subject to those rules.
Know a lot that could do more?
Put it on our radar. If you know the property decision-maker, you can introduce them when you submit your nomination.
